The Jaguar XK120  was launched in 1948 and it was the fastest production car in the world at that time. It hit a two way average of 135mph on a closed Belgium motorway. The 3.4 liter XK engine was a smooth, straight six, twin- cam power house. This engine was used by Jaguar race cars like the C-Type which won Le Mans 24 Hours twice, and the D-Type which took five of the top six places at le Mans in 1957.
